✅ Measurement range from 0.15 mm (0.006") to 25.40 mm (1.000")
✅ User-selectable measurement rate: 4, 8 or 16 readings per second
✅ User-selectable reading resolution: 0.1 mm (0.01") or 0.01 mm (0.001")
✅ Scan Mode
✅ Readings, Selected Statistics, Bar Graph & Run Chart
✅ Gauge memory: single sequential batch of up to 1,500 readings
✅ USB and Bluetooth® data output to ElcoMaster® and the ElcoMaster® Mobile App

With a choice of calibration options, measurement modes — including high-speed scan mode — display options and data logging, the MTG6 is ideal for taking readings across a wide range of coated and uncoated materials and for downloading data for further analysis and reporting.

In addition to all the features of the MTG2 and MTG4, the MTG6 includes extra calibration options: 2-Point, Velocity, and Known Thickness Value.

The MTG6 also offers Velocity Mode (VM), which is ideal for determining material or alloy homogeneity and establishing the correct sound velocity for calibration. For further information on measurement modes, see datasheet page 3.

Using Scan Mode, readings can be taken at 16 Hz (16 readings per second) over a large surface area. When the transducer is lifted from the surface, the average, lowest and highest thickness values are displayed, making Scan Mode ideal for assessing a sample’s overall uniformity. For more information on Scan Mode, see datasheet page 6.

With a user-configurable display, users can choose to view readings, statistical information, a bar graph — an analogue representation of the current reading along with the highest (Hi), lowest (Lo) and average (x) values — or a run chart, showing the trend of the last 20 readings. For further information on display options, see datasheet pages 6 and 7.

The MTG6 includes a single-batch gauge memory capable of storing up to 1,500 readings. Compatible with both ElcoMaster® and the ElcoMaster® Mobile App, readings can be downloaded via USB or Bluetooth® to PC, iOS or Android™ devices for further analysis and reporting.

The Elcometer MTG4 material thickness gauge complies with the following standards:

ASTM E797
EN 14127
EN15317

Why Choose the MTG Range

  • Smart: configurable pass/fail limits (audible and visual alerts) per reading or per batch.
  • Accurate: multiple calibration options (Zero, 1-Point, 2-Point, pre-defined materials) and an integrated zero disk.
  • Versatile: measures uncoated and coated surfaces using the Echo Echo ThruPaint™ mode up to 2 mm.
  • Productive: Scan Mode up to 16 Hz, storage for up to 100,000 readings (MTG8) and USB/Bluetooth® connectivity with ElcoMaster®.
  • Robust: impact-, dust- and splash-resistant construction (equivalent to IP64) with a 2.4" TFT display.
  • Connected: USB/Bluetooth® to ElcoMaster® (PC, iOS & Android) — for professional analysis and reporting.

Typical Applications

Pipe and tank inspection, corrosion monitoring, metal structures, composites, plastics and engineering materials, through-coating thickness verification, industrial maintenance, oil & gas, automotive, marine and energy sectors.
