Description

It operates according to the UCI method (Ultrasonic Contact Impedance), enabling fast, accurate and reliable hardness testing with virtually invisible surface marks. This makes it ideal for industrial inspection, quality control and hardness verification on heat-treated components.

The device uses a 136° Vickers diamond probe. During measurement, the probe vibrates at its own resonance frequency, which changes when it is pressed against the surface. Based on the frequency shift, the material properties and the contact conditions, the instrument determines the hardness of the test piece. Measurements can be displayed in HV, HRC, HRB, HB, HL and MPa, providing excellent flexibility for industrial use.

The PCE-3500 UCI hardness tester is particularly suitable for hard-edged parts and hardened surfaces, such as nitrided components, induction-hardened parts, cutting dies, presses, thick-walled components, gears, turbine blades, camshafts and weld spots. Thanks to its 360° measuring direction and interchangeable probes, it adapts easily to a wide range of demanding applications.

In addition to single measurements, the instrument provides advanced statistical functions such as MIN, MAX, average, standard deviation, coefficient of variation and histogram. Data can be stored on an SD card and evaluated later using the downloadable analysis software.
